Bagpipe Songs

My Repertoire

The tune list has grown too large to list them all. Below are some categories of music with a few examples listed in each. If there is a tune you don't see here, contact me and request it. I either know it, or I can find it and learn it with enough advance notice. For some specific tunes that I particularly like, try my audio samples. And if you are not sure what music is right for your event, just ask and I'll be happy to offer some suggestions.

My Tune Collection

One of my pursuits in piping is making musically satisfying arrangements of tunes as well as writing some "songs" of my own. My current "collection" consists of several arrangements and a couple of original tunes some of which I hope to publish in a unique format which will be educational and appealing.

Tune Arrangements

  • Jesus Loves the Little Children
  • Johnny Five's Jig (jig setting of Number Five's theme from Short Circuit)
  • Lamb of God (Twila Paris) - audio - sheet music
  • O, Come, O, Come, Emmanuel!

Original Tunes

  • Victory at Big Boy Bluff (4/4 march)
  • P/M M. Beall (2/4 march)

Recordings

In addition to my audio samples I've made some fun recordings mostly experimenting with what can be done with a DegerPipe and free editing software. These efforts are fairly elementary. I'd like to get a lot more involved and work more on original stuff.

  • Born in Bethlehem - this ia a Christmas song recorded by Third Day. The first time I heard it I thought it would sound great with a bagpipe. So I added an electronic smallpipe.
  • Come and Follow Me - My brother figured out that Number Five's theme from Short Circuit fit with Itchy Fingers. This is a little rough and the levels aren't too great (you can barely hear the pipes but if I turned them up, the drones were too much), but you'll get the idea.
